Black Maxi Dress

How is it Friday already? I am so busy preparing for my Mexico trip next week that it just flew by.  I can’t wait to share my trip with you all. Even though I am so excited, packing is becoming a problem. I swear I have unpacked and repacked my suitcase 3 or 4 times trying to find the best outfits to wear. I keep having the same issues: there aren’t enough days for all of the outfits I want to pack and I just keep adding to the collection :).

I wanted to share with you all this simple yet gorgeous black maxi I picked from Forever 21. I love a simple maxi dress in any color, but especially black. This gives you the opportunity to dress it up or down with fun accessories! With the higher neckline, I immediately reached for this bright tassel statement necklace. Not only does it pop with the black but it is the perfect way to “spring up” the dress. This necklace is so great and is under $35 at Francesca’s! (P.S. I also immediately thought to pair it with this fun embroidered clutch. This clutch  & this dress would be perfect for a spring/summer date night with or without the necklace but they complemented each other so well I had to style it with both. I have been looking for a bright and fun clutch like this for weeks so I was so excited to find this one under $20 at Target last week.

Enough about the accessories, I have to talk about this dress from Forever 21 (Under $20)! It is extremely comfortable and so flattering. With the higher neck and the cinched waist, you can’t go wrong. I am a little over 5’5 so I always have a hard time finding a maxi dress that isn’t way too long. This length is perfect  and can be worn with sandals or dressed up with a pair of espadrille wedges or heels. I love to find styles that would look good regardless of body shape or height so this one is spot on. Not to mention this amazing knee high split on the side. The slit is super cute and brings a flirtier side to the dress which is perfect for those spring & summer date nights.
