I tend to live in neutral during the fall! I love fall clothes but with the unpredictable Oklahoma weather, it is safest to dress in layers. Neutrals allow you to layer and layer and layer without your outfit clashing and it helps to create a sleek look if you have to shed some of those layers.
This is easily one of my favorite fall OOTDs. Overall it is a pretty simple look. A lot of people are scared to layer blacks together but don’t be! This can create an easy chic look! I added this camel suede moto jacket because it isn’t too heavy so it is great for the changing temps not to mention, the color is gorgeous, the fabric is amazing – and soft and it is a great neutral piece. This jacket is great, especially layered with blacks and deep reds for the fall and the holiday. Of course, I had to add a pop of leopard (I consider it a neutral haha) to add a little fun to this classic look!
I am preparing a ton of fun looks for you guys in the coming weeks but…… IF there is anything I am not posting that you want to see more of please leave me a comment or send me a message! I want this blog to be helpful and inspiring to you!
Shop: Quilted Down Vest (4 Colors) // Quilted Down Vest (6 colors – J crew factory & under $60) // Sunnies // Grey Waffle Top // Shoes (Old but these are close) // Shoes – also similar // Shoes – Almost Identical only in black velvet – Just ordered (Under $30) // Jeans
There is one thing in my closet that I will never EVER get rid of… my quilted down vest from JCrew. If there was ever a piece to splurge on it would be this vest. The black one I am wearing here is 3 years old and has been worn more times and in more ways than I can count, but somehow it is still in perfect condition. I have been seriously tough on this vest which only makes me love it more.
It is such a classic cold-weather piece and can be worn with everything! This week alone I wore it casual (styled here) to run errands on Sunday, I wore it to work yesterday with black pencil pants and a sweater, and I wore it after to the gym with a pair of leggings.
You really can’t go wrong with this piece. I love it so much I Ordered it in the cream last year and I am ordering it in navy this year. Another great thing about this vest is there is a slightly different version available at the factory store that is almost half the price. This is perfect if you aren’t ready to make a full commitment or if you aren’t sure how much you would wear it.
Do you have this vest? Comment let me know if you love it!
Planning a night out when it is cold is a serious headache. It is so fun to go grab drinks with friends or go to a party but trying to figure out what to wear can almost ruin the night. It is hard because you want to look sexy and stylish but you also don’t want to freeze. I mean come on who wants to wear a big bulky jacket or a big bulky sweater for a night out?
Of course, there is always those people who still manage to wear skimpy dresses and skirts – no judgment I use to too ;). Twisted back, off the shoulder, and backless sweaters are the perfect solution. They are perfect to throw on over a slip dress or with a pair of skinny jeans and otk boots. If you want to dress it up a little bit try it with black jeans and heels or heel booties.
You will look chic and stylish and your body with thank you! This look is perfect for a night out at the bars, date night, and everything in between. I have linked a few other sexy sweaters below.
Thanks for reading! Have a great week! See you back here tomorrow for my first holiday gift guide!
Today is the big day!! For all of you who don’t know, I graduated a little over a year and a half ago from The University of Oklahoma. I wasn’t raised to be an OU fan but it is safe to say after years of living in Oklahoma and going to games I am obsessed. I consider myself a self-appointed coach who yells at the players from the comfort of my couch ;). So its safe to say if I have any control over it, I don’t miss a game. Thank gosh Russell is the same way.
I have introduced you all to and talk a lot about Russell. He is seriously amazing and I am so lucky to have him but he has one big (HUGE) flaw, he and his family are Oklahoma State fans. With that being said, Bedlam is a huge deal for us. We have so much fun all season watching the teams together and our rivalry grows with every game. This is the one day of the year that I know if I am to walk into his house I will be met with trash talk at every turn and if I am being honest I would be disappointed if they didn’t. Each year this game gets bigger and bigger and we always look forward to it.
So in honor of the big game, I thought it would be fun to share a little his & her game day style with you all.
Russ is a super stylish so I love seeing the outfits he throws together. This look is perfect for a guy on gameday. For those of you who help dress your boyfriends/dads (no shame I do too haha), this is an easy and casual go-to look. I found that if you just grab a cool college shirt, a jean jacket or leather jacket, jeans, and a great pair of suede or leather shoes it won’t be outside of their comfort zone. He will look stylish and you will be the best-dressed couple or family at the game.
I will be honest, I love tshirts but I have the hardest time finding college t-shirt that I love and want to wear to games. This is partially because I always look forward to Russell and I’s annual Bedlam picture. This week I found this beautiful off-the-shoulder chenille sweater at Dillards. They had it in cream but I knew I had to have it in Crimson. (I couldn’t find the red online but I have linked it in cream, pink, and grey) This is the softest sweaters and beautiful for game day. With three neutrals to pick from you can find the perfect one no matter what team you go for. I threw it on with a great pair of jeans (which happen to be on sale) and over the knee boots. This is a great game day look and a great look for fall in general.
Well, I am off to watch the game but, I hope you all have a great weekend and a great game day! Boomer Sooner! Thank you for reading! If you missed yesterdays post, I have rounded up my favorites from the Nordstrom Fall Sale here!

Three Fall Date Night looks for every type of date night.
Happy Monday Friends!! I had the busiest weekend but I am so excited for this week. I get to hang out with some of my favorite OKC blogger babes at a fun Style Mixer Event happening at BC Clark on Wednesday. If you live in the area I would love to see you there so message me for details :).
Today I am so excited to share with you all not one, not two, but three date night outfits from Tobi. Tobi is a super cute online boutique that offers tons of styles from your casual days to nights out. Today, I will be styling three “date night” looks. The first is a little more casual – perfect for a quick dinner and a movie. The second is a little more classic and would be perfect for grabbing drinks or going to a little nicer restaurant. The third is the dressiest. I am loving it for all date nights, especially nice dinners, late nights out, or anything you want a little sexier look for.
Casual Date Night Look
First up is this leopard cardigan. I was so excited when this came in the mail. There are endless outfit possibilities with this cardigan, especially with how perfect the length is. Although I love it with a pair of leggings or my favorite jeans, I really wanted to try it with a denim skirt and my favorite new booties. I think it makes the look a little more fun yet different from your typical blue jeans. Plus I can’t say no to leopard!
This look is perfect for those days that turn into date nights. Russell and I are constantly deciding that we should go ahead and go to dinner or go to a movie once we are already out running around. This is a perfect way to look cute even if its a last minute decision.
Classic Date Night Look
My typical date night look is a black top, dark wash jeans, and heels. You can’t go wrong with this combination. I think it look is so classic and sophisticated and you won’t have to worry about being overdressed compared to your date. It is truly the perfect combination for any type of date night.
I was so excited when I got this top in the mail. I have been loving this style since spring. There is something about halter tops and cold shoulders that is so sexy and feminine yet fun. It paired perfectly with these dark wash raw step hem jeans. Adding the fun pop of print with the clutch and the edginess of the studded heels made it the perfect amount of trendy on a chic and classic date night look.
Sexy Date Night Look
This last date night look is my favorite! I have been dying to find a black jumpsuit since the Nordstrom sale. When I found this one at Tobi I was obsessed. It has the “sexy” open back and the lower neckline in the front. It is beautiful on and hugs your body in all the right places. For me, the best part about date night is feeling confident and loving your outfit. This totally gives me that. It hides everything I want to be hidden yet truly shows my curves which I love!
I paired it with a pair of nude pumps and of course a pop of leopard to create a chic night time look. This look is perfect with a moto jacket or leather jacket if you are needing to be a little more conservative or are wanting to wear it to work but is also great worn alone if you are going out for drinks or going to a nicer restaurant.
I hope this gives you a little inspiration for your fall date night looks! Thank you so much to Tobi for sending me these three amazing pieces. I am in love with them!
