Good Morning Everyone!
I am so sorry I missed my usual Monday blog post! Between the two leadership committees I am on, meetings at work, and volunteering the past few days I have had no time to sit down and write.
If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw this gorgeous Maxi dress from The Posh Pineapple Boutique, a local store here in the OKC/Norman area. I was not surprised when it was a total HIT with my Instagram followers.
This dress is gorgeous! It has beautiful detailing on the back and is double lined with the pattern making it even better. I was so excited for this shoot because this dresses as so many pretty things going on. I got the dress and saw the button detailing down the front and was immediately in love. I have had a maxi with a front slit on my “To Buy” list for a long time so when I got this one in the mail I couldn’t have been happier!
I paired it with the cutest pink purse from target. Versatility in bags is super important to me so I loved that it can also be converted into a cross body. Unfortunately I could not find it online but check your local target (a little birdie told me it was on SALE under $15!) Staying true to my colorful self I also paired it with these gorgeous beaded earrings from Charming Charlie. Would you believe you can scoop these up in tons of colors for only $12? They are selling out fast in stores so be sure to get yours here!
A special thank you to The Posh Pineapple for this dress! If you all have not checked out there site, please do! The clothes are amazing and when you sign up for emails you will receive $10 off and free shipping making this dress less than $50! Hurry sizes are already running out!
My Nordstrom Sale Picks will go live tonight so stay tuned!

Happy Friday Everyone! We made it! I wanted to jump on here real quick and show you this gorgeous dress I picked up from loft a couple of weeks ago.
If you have been following my blogging journey you probably know that I am a bit obsessed with Loft. I saw this dress in the window of our local store a few weeks ago and I was hooked! I was so discouraged at first because it was almost sold out and I could only find one not on the mannequin.
Have you ever been shopping when you find something you just can’t live without but there is only one left?! It is so easy to convince yourself that it fits, even when it doesn’t or when it could look better. That was what I ran into with this dress. After pacing the store for 10-15 minutes, I had convinced myself I would deal with it being a little big. (Note: I am typically a medium in loft dresses, so this runs a little big under the arms).
After talking to the one of the Loft employees, she convinced me that I really should be wearing the small. I nervously asked if she would mind taking the one of the display to look at the size. I got so lucky, it turned out to be a small! I seriously have not taken this dress of since.
It is perfect for those summer date nights or just a day out and about. It is very light weight and with it being a “swing” dress it is breathable even in this intense Oklahoma heat. The pom pom details at the top were so fun and playful and I loved the color and pattern! I also am a sucker for necklines like this one. I can definitely see this dress taking me into early or late September as long as our weather stays warm. Just throw on a jean jacket or a sweater and it even is office appropriate.
I wanted to mention that The Finishing Touch is gearing up for the Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale! If you haven’t already, check out my guide to the sale here! I will be posting daily in the following categories starting next week: Shoes, Tops, Denim, Accessories & Beauty, Workout Wear, & Russell’s “Picks for Him” so be sure to check in here and on my Instagram and say Hi!
What kind of things are you looking for in the sale?

Happy Monday friends! Who is ready for tomorrow? I am planning on having a relaxing day by the pool with a couple of my best friends and Russell’s brother. His brother will be leaving the day after the 4th for a 9 month deployment overseas so we are really trying to soak up these last couple of days.
I wanted to hop on hear and tell you all about this gorgeous dress from The Mint Julep Boutique. If this dress doesn’t scream summer date night, I don’t know what will. This style has been popping up everywhere lately but never could find it in the red floral until now. If you follow boutiques, you probably know that they are having the hardest time keeping this style of dress in stock, so when I found this on The Mint’s website I knew it had to be mine.
I always try to find clothing, especially dresses, that accentuate my smallest parts – primarily my waist. This dress was perfect for that. It has a gorgeous braided band that hooks around your waist adding and the pretties open back. With the plunging neckline and the floral pattern, it is the perfect touch of sexy and sweet, great for weddings or date night.
I have paired it with a gorgeous pair of pearl Kendra Scott earrings and my new favorite Same Edelman sandals (you can find them here). I have not taken these shoes off since I got them – so comfy! With the dress being a little longer in the back, it was the perfect excuse to throw on a pair of heels.
If you are looking for more fun and bright colored clothes head over to The Mint Julep Boutique. They have new arrivals coming in daily and you can receive $10 to use on your first order by signing up for their emails. Did I mention they are having a huge sale and free shipping TODAY? Be sure to check it out and let me know your favorites below J
Thank you to The Mint Julep Boutique for gifting me this dress! As always, all opinions are my own. An extra special thank you to my readers for letting me bring you the boutiques and styles I am loving!

If you guys have been following my blogging journey, you probably know I love OTS tops. I have been seeing these bright pleated type tops ever where. Vince Camuto has the cutest one but until recently it was almost $100, it is now on sale for $60 using the link above!
This top form Shein was the perfect designer dupe and is under $20! The top is so bright and vivid and comes in a few other colors. This is the perfect summer top but also the perfect date night look! I love a good pair of white jeans and they really help to dress up this top. I will say, this top runs a little small in the arms. I am wearing a small here but definitely could have gone up a size. I chose to get a small so that I could wear it as a strapless top for more casual occasions.
With July sneaking up fast, I have begun the hunt for good transition pieces. I love all of the tropical prints but with my closet full of summer and with fall right around the corner I am prepping my closet now. This top would be the perfect transition into fall with a pair of black jeans or slacks, if you are living in a cooler state; the Vince Camuto linked above has longer sleeves and would be perfect to add to your closet. Living in Oklahoma, this top will definitely last me as is until September or October.
I have had a few people ask me about SheIN. I am loving SheIN right now, but I will warn you some styles take longer than other to arrive. If you need styles quickly, try looking on the “SHEIN” section of Amazon. You are able to get prime shipping. If it is not available on Amazon, try looking for items that have priority dispatching. I have found that if I order at least one “priority dispatching” item, they are shipped faster and will be herein 6-10 days rather than a couple of weeks.
SheIN It is perfect for tops and dresses that don’t break your bank. You can find a lot of designer dupes on their website and most are under $30. Most of the times I have found that the styles they offer run true to size. I definitely recommend sizing up in skirts and rompers. If you have any more questions about it, please email me! I would love to help!
I hope you all have a fabulous 4th of July weekend! Lets be friends on Instagram, I would love to see the fun you are having this weekend + I will be posting more outfit ideas!
One of my favorite holidays is the Fourth of July. It is so fun to celebrate and even more fun to outfit shop for. I was gifted this gorgeous blue tie dye dress from Style N Motion and y’all I am in love. It is so soft and is super flattering. It is definitely one of my favorite dresses of the summer.
I have paired it with my favorite chambray wedges but it would be super cute with both sandals and tennis shoes. In case you are looking for the perfect pair of tassel earrings for the 4th, these Stella & Dot ombre tassels are amazing. They are super light and can be turned into a stud. You can order yours here.
I also wanted to talk to you a little bit about Style N Motion. This is the cute online boutique. All of their clothes are super flattering on all body types. When they reached out to be to collab I was so excited! I love bringing you all new boutiques, especially ones that hand pick all of their items with different styles and different girls in mind. How fun is it to look at a website and totally imagine yourself in the clothes? This boutique truly caters to “the every girl” and I love that! If you are interested in my dress or any other fab finds on their website use the code “BOOM at checkout for 40%off!
A special thank you to Caitlin from Style N Motion for letting me picks out the funnest dress! As always all opinions are totally my own! Check them out!

Tie waist shorts have been a been a huge favorite of mine for the past couple of years, especially those from Loft. This style, both shorts & pants, are everywhere! I mean it, from boutiques to large retail changes, everyone is carrying them.
I snagged these shorts last summer from Loft and they have quickly become a wardrobe staple. I always try to keep what I am wearing current season so that it can be easy for y’all to shop the exact look. When I realized this trend was here to stay, I knew I had to share these shorts. I love mixing my current wardrobe with new pieces to change up the look and to bring renewed inspiration for your current wardrobe. Blouses and shorts are great because you can constantly mix old and new to get the perfect look and stay within your budget which is what I did here.
I am so sad these exact shorts are not available so I have linked similar shorts from Loft above and another pair I love here. They are so comfortable! I mean seriously, you will feel like you are wearing pajama’s, but you will look cute and chic. The fit is incredible. It is super flattering and the material doesn’t seem to wrinkle which is great! I love easy & low maintenance looks during the summer. Who wants to spend their day steaming shorts? Not me, so these are my new best friend for hot days spent shopping or hanging out on the patio with friends
I styled these with a cute (and comfortable) pair of wedges to dress them up the plain bodysuit a bit. With looser fitting shorts, I tend to go smaller and sleeker on the top so this V-neck body suit was perfect. It is super light and breathable, and adds to a seamless look with the shorts. I find that tucking and untucking your shirt can be such a pain, especially when you are shopping so having something as easy as a body suit can really make the whole trip more enjoyable.
Has anyone else given this trend a try? I’ve had a lot of people tell me they are nervous this style won’t flatter their shape but I am here to tell you that’s a total myth. I dare you to try them ;), they might just surprise you!
I am curious, is there anything you would like to see more of on thefinishingtouchokc.com? If so, let’s chat! Have a good weekend!

Hi everyone! Happy Memorial Day!
I hope you all are enjoying this long weekend. Russell and I are going to a fun family BBQ today in honor of his brother. There will be lots of fun outdoor games, some yummy punch, and lots of food! I am not sure if you all know this or not, but both Russell and his brother Clark are both in the United States Air Force (Guard). We found out awhile ago that Clark will be getting deployed in a couple of weeks and won’t be home until spring of 2018, so this is a sort of farewell party. We figured what better time to do it than on Memorial Day.
Memorial Day & Fourth of July are such fun holidays to dress for. I plan on re-wearing this adorable chambray top I shared in Instagram a couple of weeks ago. I seriously am in love with it. Not only is it super cute and flattering, but I love the details of the cut outs and the raw hems. I also really like the darker chambray. Usually, the stores in Oklahoma and the online boutiques tend to carry lighter colors and thinner materials so I was so excited when I saw this one at Dillard’s (& on SALE). I was not able to find this exact one online for you but I have linked a similar one by the same brand above. If you are totally in love with this one be sure to check the contemporary section of your local Dillards :).
I love the idea of chambray and white jeans together, but for the BBQ I am planning on going a little more casual with a pair of lace up sandals and white jean shorts. I have linked one of my favorite pair that happen to be on major sale. I also am thinking of going out of my comfort zone with a cute red bandanna around my neck. Has anyone else completely fallen in love with this trend? If you are needing inspiration check out one of my favorite bloggers, Dede of Dress Up Buttercup, she is always wearing the cutest neck scarfs!
What are you planning for today?
